Have been visiting Captain Cod for many years and have never had a bad experience. The staff are lovely and always welcome you. Sometimes there is a small wait when the fish or chips are being freshly cooked but they make you aware of the wait time when you order. We always enjoy our food, ending with clear plates and will continue returning to Captain Cod, our local :)

Extremely welcoming fish bar! They have one of the best fish going! Whenever I get a portion of fish and chips, it’s always fresh and the fish is so light on the inside of the crispy batter. Fish literally melts in your mouth it’s that good! On top of that this fish bar likes to do its own special house curry on top of the normal chip shop curry!

Another great tasting fish and chip supper from Captain Cod. Best chips ever! The staff are always pleasant and kind. Was given some free samples of a new chicken roll they are doing. The kids loved them. I am disappointed when I go anywhere else for fish and chips. Live and learn.

Really enjoyed my food from here. Fresh cooked fish. Just what I needed after a late night at work and couldn't be bothered to cook. I dropped in 20mins before they closed, no fish was ready yet they still cooked my order so close to closing time. I'd recommend this place for food and service 🙂

Exceptional chips and fish is always fresh. Their mixed chicken dishes are really good too. Generous portion size and fairly priced. Can't recommend trying this enough

They do lovely fish and chips, and also have other items as expected from a fish and chip shop. You can eat in or takeaway, and they also offer delivery. The shop is very clean and prices are reasonable. The food is good quality and cooked well. A very enjoyable meal.

Totally disagree with the bad reviews on here. We have always found the owner lady very friendly and polite I’m sure it was a genuine mistake for the over charge comment below. And regarding the cash only policy she is a registered business so will pay tax, you must have misheard as I’m sure it’s due to the ridiculous charges that are put on you if you operate a card machine. Regarding the food we have always found it to be of excellent quality, good portion size and great value for money. P.S. you can’t beat their large fish it’s like a whale!!
